The B&B Governo dei Nove is a welcoming bed and breakfast located in the historic center of Siena, not far from Piazza del Campo and the Duomo. The structure offers elegant rooms in an ancient medieval building, internally renovated with the most modern comforts.
The property is located in Contrada dell'Istrice, one of the historic districts of the center of Siena. The area allows you to reach on foot: the Medici Fortress (8 minutes), Piazza del Campo and the Torre del Mangia (10 minutes) and the Duomo (12 minutes). It is an ideal base for those who want to visit Tuscany by public transport thanks to its proximity to Piazza Gramsci (3 minutes on foot), from which buses leave for various locations, such as Florence and San Gimignano. Florence airport is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car or bus.
The B&B has three types of rooms - Classic, Superior and Deluxe - furnished in a modern style, with brick walls and exposed beams reminiscent of the Middle Ages. All rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with TV, Wi-Fi connection, minibar, kettle, safe, beds with toppers, hairdryer, courtesy set and a bottle of ultrafiltered water offered daily. The bathrooms are equipped with shower cubicles and the 2 Deluxe rooms offer chromotherapy in addition. Some rooms offer a view of the Via Francigena. In all rooms there is a QR code that, when framed, shows an interactive map of the city of Siena with information on its history, events and the days and opening hours of attractions.
The hotel does not have private parking, but there are numerous car parks in the vicinity, both free of charge and with car valet service. Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and the staff, although only present in the mornings, is available by phone for needs or information. You can check in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tour bookings can be made and the luggage storage service is free of charge until arranged times.
