Sustainable projects by Alberghi.it srl

For years we have been committed to promoting a responsible approach to tourism through social and environmental sustainability projects. Together with the hotels that are our clients, we aim to build, step by step, a community founded on respect for the environment and for people.

Green Booking, 1000 trees in 5 years

In 2016 (when the company was still named Info Alberghi Srl) we launched an ambitious challenge: to plant 1000 trees in 5 years along the Riviera Romagnola.
Mission accomplished!

We planted tamarisks, olive trees, oaks, mulberries, fruit trees and many other species. And while planting trees and contributing to educational projects, urban regeneration and green initiatives, we raised awareness among hoteliers and tourists about the importance of a respectful approach to the territory.
The project was carried out under the patronage of the Emilia Romagna Region and the Municipalities of Rimini, Riccione, Misano Adriatico, Cattolica, Bellaria-Igea Marina, Cesenatico and Cervia.

Blu Booking, stop plastic in the sea

In the summer of 2019 we supported Fondazione Cetacea Onlus through Blu Booking, a project to protect the Adriatic Sea and its inhabitants. The initiative had a twofold goal: on one hand, to support the activities of Fondazione Cetacea and its sea turtle hospital, and on the other, to raise awareness among hoteliers and tourists about the problem of plastic pollution in the sea.
Over 200 hotels joined in symbolically adopting sea turtles in difficulty and accepted a symbolic exchange of 250 traditional plastic straws for as many paper straws supplied by Alberghi.it.

At the end of the summer, students from the Liceo Artistico A. Serpieri in Rimini transformed the 50 thousand collected plastic straws into works of art, later exhibited in the "Plastica AppArte" show, at the Museo della Città di Rimini from 5 to 10 November 2019.

Milleorti per il Turismo

The latest project we have undertaken, still ongoing, is Milleorti per il Turismo ("A Thousand Gardens for Tourism"). Here environmental sustainability meets social sustainability to promote the work inclusion of people with various types of intellectual disability.

The vegetable gardens, adopted by Alberghi.it together with the hotels taking part in the initiative, are cultivated from March to September by the work group, and the entire harvest is donated to Caritas. In this way we support local families and fight food waste.

The project is carried out in partnership with the social cooperative Il Millepiedi and the association Crescere Insieme Odv.
