Hotels on Via Vittorio Veneto - Gabicce

Staying on Via Vittorio Veneto in Gabicce

Staying on Via Vittorio Veneto in Gabicce

Choosing a hotel on Via Vittorio Veneto in Gabicce Mare means staying practically right by the sea, along one of the streets that best represent the resort’s tourist area. The street runs alongside the coast, putting not only the beach but also the town centre, the bars and restaurants, and Gabicce’s main promenades just a short walk away.

Its location by the sea is one of its key attractions. The hotels on Via Vittorio Veneto listed on Alberghi.it are either directly on the beach or sea-facing, so there’s no need to organise transport to get to the beach. This is a particularly obvious convenience during a seaside holiday, especially for those travelling with children or who prefer to be able to pop back to the hotel easily during the day.

Gabicce Mare’s beach is mainly sandy and well-equipped, with beach establishments occupying a large part of the coastline. However, the resort is situated at a distinctive point on the Adriatic coast: to the north, the beach continues towards Cattolica, whilst to the south it ends at the foot of the Monte San Bartolo promontory, where the landscape changes rapidly and the flat coastline gives way to cliffs and vegetation.

Those who prefer not to use a beach club can head to the public beach at Sottomonte, situated at the southern end of the sandy stretch, towards Monte San Bartolo. A second small stretch of public beach is located near the canal harbour, on the border with Cattolica. Via Vittorio Veneto runs along much of the coastline, so before choosing a hotel, it is worth checking which public beach is closest to your accommodation.

The centre of Gabicce Mare is also very close by. For the accommodation on this street listed on Alberghi.it, the distances given are generally between around 100 and 400 metres. This means that during your stay you can easily reach shops, bars, ice-cream parlours and restaurants and explore much of the town on foot. In some sections, Via Vittorio Veneto is also part of the evening pedestrian zone, making after-dinner strolls even more enjoyable.

One of the easiest walks leads to the Tavollo canal harbour, which separates Gabicce Mare from Cattolica and also marks the border between the Marche and Emilia-Romagna regions. From the harbour, you can continue along the jetty or cross over to Cattolica and carry on directly along the seafront of this neighbouring town in Romagna. This is a unique feature of Gabicce: during the same walk, you can easily cross from one region to another without using a car.

In the opposite direction, the landscape changes completely. Behind the southern end of the beach lies Monte San Bartolo, and as you climb, you reach Gabicce Monte, a small, panoramic village overlooking the Adriatic. From Piazza Valbruna and the viewing points, you can admire the coastline from above and stop off at the local restaurants and bars, which are particularly pleasant at sunset.

During the tourist season, you can also reach Gabicce Monte by the tourist train, thus avoiding the walk uphill from the seaside. Services, stops and timetables may change during the season, so it’s worth checking them directly whilst you’re there.

From Gabicce Monte, you can continue exploring the Monte San Bartolo Natural Park. The scenic road crosses the promontory towards Pesaro and takes you to viewpoints, footpaths and small villages such as Casteldimezzo and Fiorenzuola di Focara. It is one of the most interesting excursions for those who want to alternate days on the beach with walks and nature.

Among the destinations on Monte San Bartolo is Vallugola Bay, just a few kilometres from Gabicce. Here, the landscape is very different from the town’s beach: the shoreline consists mainly of pebbles and gravel and is enclosed by the headland. There is a public beach area, beach facilities and a small marina, so it can be a good alternative for spending a few hours in a setting different from Gabicce’s seafront.

Via Vittorio Veneto is also convenient for those arriving without a car. Gabicce Mare does not have its own railway station: the nearest station is Cattolica-San Giovanni-Gabicce, which is approximately 1.1 to 1.6 km from the hotels on the street. If you’re carrying luggage, it may be more convenient to complete the journey by bus or taxi, whilst during your stay the train offers easy access to Riccione, Rimini and Pesaro.

For cycling enthusiasts, Gabicce offers a wide variety of options. Along the coast, the routes are simple and flat, and you can cycle towards Cattolica; heading up towards Gabicce Monte and San Bartolo, however, brings more challenging routes, with climbs and elevation changes. Those looking for a leisurely ride can therefore stick to the coast, whilst more experienced cyclists can use the Panoramica to explore the headland.

During a stay of several days, it’s also worth exploring the hinterland. The first destination to consider is Gradara, with its fortified village, the Rocca and the walkways along the walls. Continuing through the hills, you can also reach Montegridolfo, Mondaino and Montefiore Conca, or venture further into the Montefeltro region.

Via Vittorio Veneto is therefore particularly suitable for those who want to make the sea the focus of their holiday whilst still having plenty of other options. The beach and town centre are practically on your doorstep; Cattolica is within walking distance, whilst in just a few kilometres you can go from the sandy coast of Gabicce to the panoramic views of Gabicce Monte, the cliffs of San Bartolo and Vallugola Bay. It is precisely this combination of sea, walks, nature and the hinterland that makes this area so special.
