Staying on Viale Principe di Piemonte in Miramare di Rimini
Staying on Viale Principe di Piemonte in Miramare di Rimini
Staying on Viale Principe di Piemonte in Miramare di Rimini means having the beach practically right in front of your hotel. The road runs along the seafront in the southernmost part of Rimini and passes through Miramare to the Rimini Terme spa area and the border with Riccione. This makes it a particularly convenient location if you want to spend most of your vacation by the sea, but also have restaurants, bars, and services within easy walking distance.
The beach is the area's true highlight. Along Viale Principe di Piemonte, hotels are located either on the seafront or just a few meters from the shore: in many places, you can simply cross the street to reach the beach establishments. The shoreline is wide and sandy, offering both private beach facilities and, further south in Miramare, several stretches of public beach.
The presence of free beaches distinguishes this area from many other parts of the Rimini coast. In Miramare, there is a stretch between Beach Clubs 139 and 140; further south, there are other free areas from Beach Club 150 toward Rimini Terme and from the Air Force area to the border with Riccione. Another stretch is located in front of the former Colonia Bolognese. The free, unequipped beaches still have access ramps and lifeguards.
Rimini Terme is also located on the southern side of Viale Principe di Piemonte, directly overlooking the beach. The spa uses thermal and seawater and offers spa treatments, rehabilitation, thalassotherapy activities, and wellness services. The distance varies depending on the part of the street: from the closest part, you can reach it in a few minutes on foot, while from the center of Miramare, it's still easily accessible on foot.
For shopping and village life, you can instead head to Viale Ivo Oliveti, one of Miramare's main streets. This is where you'll find shops, ice cream parlors, bars, restaurants, and businesses, and during the summer, the area becomes a popular destination for evening strolls. This makes it easy to combine a day at the beach with dinner or a night out without having to travel to Marina Centro.
Miramare is also an attractive destination for families with children. In addition to the sandy beach and beach resort services, nearby is Fiabilandia, Rimini's historic amusement park built around Lake Bernardo. Depending on where you are on Viale Principe di Piemonte, the distance is approximately 2-3.5 km: inside, you'll find attractions, shows, and settings aimed especially at children.
Another unique feature of this area is its location between Rimini and Riccione. Miramare is, in fact, the last town on the Rimini coast before the border with Riccione. Continuing south, you can reach the Marano area and continue towards the port and center of Riccione; going north, you pass through Rivazzurra, Marebello, and Bellariva until you reach Marina Centro. It's therefore a good base if you want to explore multiple parts of the Riviera during the same stay.
The coast is also ideal for cycling. You can use your bike to reach Rimini Terme, travel towards Riccione, or pedal towards Rivazzurra and Marebello. For longer journeys , bus line 11, which runs along the coast between Rimini and Riccione, and the Metromare, the rapid transit system on a dedicated lane that connects the two cities, are also available.
For a day away from the beach, you can also visit Rimini's historic center. Here, you can start at the Arch of Augustus, a monumental Roman gate built in 27 BC, cross Piazza Tre Martiri, and arrive at Piazza Cavour, the heart of medieval and Renaissance Rimini. Continuing along Corso d'Augusto, you reach the Tiberius Bridge, a five-arched Roman bridge that leads to Borgo San Giuliano.
The cuisine is also a good reason to explore Miramare. In the area, you'll find piadina shops, seafood restaurants, pizzerias, and eateries serving Romagna cuisine. You can try piadina with squacquerone and arugula, passatelli, and tagliatelle, or opt for the seafood tradition of sardines, mussels, mixed fried fish, and grilled fish.
If you'd like to spend a few hours away from the coast, you can head inland. Among the most interesting destinations are Santarcangelo di Romagna, with its historic center on Colle Giove and its characteristic underground caves, and Verucchio, a Malatesta village overlooking the Marecchia Valley. For a longer excursion, you can head to San Marino and visit the historic center on Mount Titano.
Viale Principe di Piemonte is therefore particularly suitable if your priority during your vacation is being close to the sea. Compared to the more inland streets of Miramare, it offers immediate access to the beach, the ability to reach Rimini Terme on foot, and a convenient location for traveling to Riccione. At the same time, shops, restaurants, and the town center remain within easy reach.
